Funky Camps!
The Funky Foundation offers three tuition-free camps per year which educate youth about HIV/AIDS and other relevant problems.
- Only children who have leadership qualities are invited so that they can return to their communities and teach their peers.
- Children participate in soccer practices and games during the day and attend life orientation classes at night.
Classes focus on HIV/AIDS, the importance of education, alcohol and drug abuse, teenage pregnancy, unprotected sex, and respect of others.
- Classes preach abstinence first, but also teach alternate contraceptive methods.
- Classes also focus on the fact that all problems lead to an increase in HIV/AIDS – The HIV/AIDS epidemic can be decreased by bettering education, decreasing alcohol and drug abuse, and fighting against teenage pregnancy and unprotected sex.
